MOTU PROPRIO ON THE ABBEY OF ST. JEROME IN THE CITY PIUS PP. XI
1 The Monastery of St. Jerome in the City, by virtue of Our apostolic constitution Inter praecipuas, issued on 15 June 1933, is an abbey immediately subject to the Holy See. Now, however, a question arises whether this new abbey is a participant in that fraternal Confederation which the Benedictine Congregations, according to the norm of the Apostolic Letters Summum semper issued on 12 July 1893, have entered into. Since indeed all Benedictine abbeys at that time were subject to Congregations, those Letters dealt with Congregations, to be sure, but not with abbeys which were not joined to the same. Wherefore, to remove all doubt, by Motu Proprio and with certain knowledge, We establish and decree the following: 1. The Abbey of St. Jerome in the City belongs to the fraternal Benedictine Confederation with the same rights and the same duties as the other confederated abbeys.
2 2. The Abbot of St. Jerome, like the other Abbots of governance, has the right to intervene in the assemblies of the confederated Abbots and to cast a vote in the election of the Abbot Primate.
3 Furthermore, so that We may bestow upon the aforesaid Abbey of St. Jerome the same favor and grace as upon the other monasteries, We also grant to it the privileges which almost all Benedictine abbeys enjoy, namely those privileges which are commonly called "Cassinensian," and also the privileges of the Congregations of Cluny, of Sts. Vitus and Hydulphus, and of St. Maur which have been granted to the abbeys of the Congregation of Solesmes. — Notwithstanding anything to the contrary.
4 Given at Rome at St. Peter's, on the 25th day of January in the year 1934, in the twelfth year of Our Pontificate.

MOTU PROPRIO ABBATIAE SANCTI HIEBONYMI DE UBBE PIUS PP. XI
4 Datum Bomae apud Sanctum Petrum, die xxv mensis Ianuarii anno MDCCCCxxxiv, Pontificatus Nostri duodecimo.

MOTU PROPRIO DELL'ABBAZIA DI SAN GIROLAMO IN URBE PIUS PP. XI
