ADORNI, ANNA MARIA

ADORNI, ANNA MARIA. — Born at Fivizzano on 15 June 1865, died at Parma on 7 February 1893. Widow of Domenico Botti, an official at the ducal court of Parma, she first enrolled in the Pious Union of Ladies Visiting Prisons, then founded the Istituto del Buon Pastore for the re-education of fallen young women, and the Congregation of the Ancelle dell’Immacolata Concezione for the care of orphans and abandoned girls. The cause of beatification is underway.
