ADORNI, ANNA MARIA. – Born in Fivizzano on 15 June 1805, died in Parma on 7 February 1893. The widow of Domenico Botti, attached to the ducal court of Parma, she first joined the Pious Union of Ladies Visiting Prisons; she subsequently founded the Institute of the Good Shepherd for the re-education of fallen young women, and the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Immaculate Conception for the care of orphaned and abandoned girls. The cause of beatification is in progress.
