Adorni, Anna Maria

ADORNI, ANNA MARIA. - Born at Fivizzano on 15 June 1805, died at Parma on 7 February 1893. Widow of Domenico Botti, attached to the ducal court of Parma, she first enrolled in the Pious Union of the Ladies Visitors of the Prisons, then founded the Institute of the Good Shepherd for the rehabilitation of fallen young women, and the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Immaculate Conception for the care of orphans and abandoned girls. The cause for her beatification is in progress.
