IGNATIUS AGRICOLA – German Jesuit, born at Zusamaltheim in the diocese of Augsburg on 31 July 1661, died at Munich on 23 January 1729. He entered the Order on 29 September 1677, served as professor of literature and rhetoric, and in 1719 became director of the Latin Congregation in Munich. He wrote the *Historia Provinciae Societatis Iesu Germaniae Superioris* (Augsburg 1727–29), in two parts covering the period up to 1600 and rich in information. The work, left unfinished, was continued by his confreres.
