AIMOINO (or AIMONE) of FLEURY. – Born into a noble family of Périgord, he entered Fleury around 980 and died there around 1008. At the order of his abbot Abbo he composed: Historiae Francorum libri IV, which have come down to us in two different versions, only the first of which is authentic; Translatio patris Benedicti, a poem of 200 hexameters on the celebrated translation to Fleury; De miraculis s. Benedicti libri II, a continuation of the work of two other monks of Fleury; Sermo in festivitatibus s. Benedicti; Vita et martyrium s. Abbonis abbatis (d. in 1004), an excellent biography of his protector.
