ALLIATA, GUGLIELMO. – Catholic Action leader, b. in Rome in 1852, d. there in 1937. Graduate of the Catholic University of Louvain, president of Catholic Youth (1880–92), promoter of pilgrimages and public demonstrations, especially for the jubilee of Leo XIII. He was among the founders and leaders of the Anti-Masonic Union and the Anti-Masonic Review (1894–1921), which were linked to the notorious Leo Taxil affair.
