ANSUINUS, Bishop of Camerino, Saint. - The Vita recounts that he was confessor of the emperor Ludovico, that he accepted the episcopate on the condition of being exempted from military service, which was then abusively imposed on bishops, and that he governed the diocese of Camerino for 18 years. A.'s episcopate must be placed in the first half of the 9th century. His feast in the Roman Martyrology is fixed on 13 March.
