ANTONIO da KÖNIGSTEIN (CONINGSTEYN). - Dutch Franciscan (his surname is Bruich, or Brockwy, or Brakwy), preacher and controversialist at the time of the Protestant Reformation, b. c. 1470 at Nijmegen, d. 11 Dec. 1541 near Emmerich. He was guardian in several convents and preacher at Cologne Cathedral.
His principal work is Concordantiae breviores (Cologne 1529; many editions), a practical concordance of biblical words for the use of preachers. His other works are: Passio D. N. I. Chr. secundum 4 Evangelistas, Paris 1533 (perhaps identical with the work mentioned by various authors as Monotessaron Evangeliorum, Cologne 1539 and repeatedly published); Postillae in omnibus festivitatibus B. V.; Postillae in Epistolas et Evangelia dominicalia; Commentaria in Epistolas S. Pauli, Paris 1543.
