ANTONIO da KÖNIGSTEIN (CONINGSTEYN). - Dutch Franciscan (his surname is Bruich, or Brockwy, or Brakwy), preacher and controversialist at the time of the Protestant Reformation, b. around the year 1470 at Nijmegen, d. 11 December 1541 near Emmerich. He was guardian in various convents and preacher at the cathedral of Cologne.
His principal work is Concordantiae breviores (Cologne 1529; many editions), a real concordance of the words of the Bible for the use of preachers. His other works are: Passio D. N. I. Chr. secundum 4 Evangelistas, Paris 1533 (a work perhaps identical with the one that various authors mention: Monotessaron Evangeliorum, Cologne 1539 and published several times); Postillae in omnibus festivitatibus B. V.; Postillae in Epistolas et Evangelia dominicalia; Commentaria in Epistolas S. Pauli, Paris 1543.
