Arcangelo di Lion (Michel Degranges or Desgrange)

ARCANGELO di LIONE (Michel Degranges or Desgrange). – Capuchin Friar Minor, born in Lione in 1736, died in 1822. At the age of fifteen he embraced the religious state. In 1789, for having dared to inveigh from the pulpit against the Estates-General, he was forced to flee his native city and take refuge in the convent of Sion (Switzerland). On returning to his homeland, he devoted himself entirely to the apostolate and to the restoration of his Order. He left valuable writings, among which the posthumous work in two volumes deserves mention: Dissertations philosophiques, historiques et théologiques sur la religion catholique (Lione 1836).
