Angelo da Milano (Angelus Halensis, of Milan, also Angelo)

ANGELO da MILANO (Angelus Hallensis, a Mediolano, ELLI ANGELO). – Lombard Franciscan theologian, born in the sixteenth century. He taught scholastic and moral theology.

We know of the following works: Rosarium seu instructorium sacerdotum et clericorum (Turin 1616); Commentarium in prosam seu sequentiam mortuorum (Turin 1637). More worthy of mention is the Speculum spirituale, which in the course of a century (1608–1715) went through six editions, the fifth of which (Ronciglione 1690) was placed on the Index in 1718.
