ARCANGELO DI COLA DA CAMERINO

ARCANGELO di Cola da Camerino. – A Marchigian painter of the first half of the 15th century, he followed Gentile da Fabriano, not without Florentine influences. In 1416 he was in Città di Castello, in 1420–21 in Florence, and in 1422 in Rome. Works of his are preserved in Osimo, Camerino, Bibbiena, and in private collections. Among the numerous paintings attributed to him, we may mention the frescoes in the oratory of the Annunziata at Roffredo (Lazio).
