FRIEDRICH ALBRECHT AUGUSTI. — Exegete, born a Jew in Frankfurt an der Oder in 1696, converted to Lutheranism in 1722, and in 1734 became pastor at Eschenbergen (Gotha), where he died in 1782. In ten works (from 1728 to 1754) he demonstrated to the Jews the truth of Christianity.
His son JOHANNES CHRISTIAN WILHELM (1771–1841) published two volumes on the history of dogma and sixteen volumes on Christian archaeology.
