AUGUSTI, FRIEDRICH ALBRECHT. — Exegete, born a Jew in Frankfurt an der Oder in 1696, he converted to Lutheranism in 1722 and in 1734 became pastor at Eschenbergen (Gotha), where he died in 1782. In ten works (from 1728 to 1734), he demonstrated the truth of Christianity for the Jews.
His son JOHANNES CHRISTIAN WILHELM (1771–1841) published two volumes on the history of dogma and 16 volumes on Christian archaeology.
