AVITABILE, Pietro. — A Theatine, missionary, born on 8 Oct. 1590 at Naples, entered the order in 1608. He was first in Georgia (1626–38), then, after returning to Rome, in the Indies as part of the first Indian mission of the Theatines (1640–50); he died at Goa in 1650.
