AVITRANI, VINCENZO. — According to Mazzuchelli and Villarosa, his name is Avinatri. Ascetical writer, born in Bergamo in 1612. He spent almost his entire life in Naples, where he entered the Oratorians in 1629 and died in 1685.
He was master of novices, superior, and esteemed spiritual director. Posthumous work: *Calix inebrians ex suavissimo Christi passionis botro aliquatus*, Naples 1694. Mazzuchelli, following Fr. Pio Tommaso Milante (*Auctarium*, supplement to *Bibliotheca Sancta* by Sisto Senese, Naples 1742, p. 552), also attributes to him a *Trattato dei dolori della Vergine*.
