AZOR, JUAN. – Jesuit, born in Lorca (Murcia) and died in Rome in 1603. He taught dogmatic and moral theology also in Rome, where he also collaborated in compiling the « Ratio studiorum ». S. Alfonso describes him as an « auctor classicus » for his Institutiones Morales (3 vols., Rome 1600, 1606, 1611, and elsewhere on several occasions). In his synodal constitutions, Bossuet recommends the same work to the clergy.
