JUAN AZOR. — Jesuit, born in Lorca (Murcia) and died in Rome in 1603. He taught dogmatic and moral theology in Rome, where he also collaborated on the compilation of the *Ratio Studiorum*. St. Alphonsus Liguori called him a “classic author” for his *Institutiones Morales* (3 vols., Rome 1600, 1606, 1611 and frequently reprinted elsewhere). Bossuet, in his synodal constitutions, recommended the same work to the clergy.
