BAMBOZZI, BENVENUTO, Venerable. — Conventual Franciscan, born at Cerignano (Osimo) on 23 March 1809, professed religious on 9 December 1833, ordained priest on 14 September 1834, novice master at Osimo (1844–61), died at Osimo on 24 March 1875. He was a distinguished director of souls and a popular apostle, endowed with heavenly charisms.
He wrote treatises on ascetics and mysticism (manuscripts); particularly noteworthy are a Method of Religious Life and his Autobiography. His cause of beatification was introduced by decree of 6 September 1911.
