BAMBOZZI, BENVENUTO, venerable.—Conventual Friar Minor, born at Cerignano (Osimo) on 23 March 1809, professed religious on 9 December 1833, ordained a priest on 14 September 1834, master of novices at Osimo (1844–61), died at Osimo on 24 March 1875. He was an eminent director of consciences and popular apostle, endowed with heavenly charisms.
He wrote treatises on asceticism and mysticism (manuscripts); particularly important are a Metodo di vita religiosa and his Autobiografia. His cause of beatification was introduced by decree of 6 September 1911.
