BAZZINI, ANTONIO

Bazzini, Antonio. — Composer and violinist, b. at Brescia in 1818, d. at Milan in 1897. Maestro di cappella at Brescia, then professor and director of the Milan Conservatory. A distinguished concert artist, he composed, among other works: the oratorio *La resurrezione di Cristo*, Psalms LI and LVI, the so-called “symphonic cantata” *Sennacheribbo* (from Psalm XXV), the overture *Saul*, a Mass, vespers, etc.
