«BEATE PASTOR PETRE CLEMENS ACCIPE». — Hymn of praise for the feasts of s. Pietro, consisting of a single stanza, besides the doxology, taken from the hymn attributed to Paolino II of Aquileia (d. in 802), Felix per omnes festum mundi cardines, reworked by the correctors of Urban VIII. It is a prayer to s. Pietro that he may release us from the bonds of sin and open for us the gate of heaven, he who was granted supreme power to loose and to bind. It is a deprecatory paraphrase of the grandiose scene at Caesarea Philippi, recounted in Mt. 18.
