Beate Pastor Petre Clemens Accipe

Italian original Cite

"BEATE PASTOR PETRE CLEMENS ACCIPE." - A hymn of Lauds for the feasts of St. Peter, composed of a single strophe, besides the doxology, taken from the hymn attributed to Paulinus II of Aquileia (d. 802) Felix per omnes festum mundi cardines, reworked by the correctors of Urban VIII. It is a prayer to St. Peter that he may loose us from the bonds of sin and open to us the gate of heaven, he who has had the supreme power of loosing and binding. It is a deprecatory paraphrase of the grand scene of Caesarea Philippi, reported in Mt. 18.
