Benedictine Sisters of Our Lady of Calvary. — Reform of the great Benedictine Order undertaken by Fr. Giuseppe da Tremblay, the illustrious Capuchin better known by the name of the “Grey Eminence,” with the collaboration of Antonietta d'Orléans, at Poitiers on 15 October 1617. They were approved by Gregory XV on 22 March 1621. Suppressed during the Revolution, the institute was restored by a brief of 1 November 1828 by Leo XII. The sisters lead a contemplative life combined with the active life of teach-

instruction and boarding pupils. Today they have 10 houses with approximately 150 religious.
