BIBLICA. - Quarterly journal of Rome (v.) Announced among the aims of the new institution from its very beginnings, its publication was postponed until the beginning of 1920 owing to the outbreak of the First World War; from then on it continued to appear regularly, without interruptions or notable delays. It is devoted to the scholarly treatment of biblical subjects, and each issue consists of four parts: original articles and notes on important questions or particular points; reviews of recent publications; news of the institute and of other events and persons concerned with Holy Scripture; finally, under the title « Elenchus bibliographicus », a complete and systematically arranged list of publications concerning the Bible as they progressively appear. The last two parts are written in Latin; for the first two, modern languages are admitted (Italian, French, Spanish, English, and German). The journal enjoys great esteem throughout the world, including among Protestant and Jewish scholars.
