BIBLICA. - Quarterly review of the Pontifical Biblical Institute of Rome (v. Annunziata). Among the purposes announced by the new institution from its very beginnings, the publication was delayed by the outbreak of the First World War until the beginning of 1920; from then on it continued to appear regularly without interruption or notable delay. It is devoted to the scholarly treatment of biblical subjects, and each issue consists of four parts: original articles and notes on important questions or particular points; reviews of recent publications; news of the Institute and of other facts and persons concerned with Holy Scripture; and finally, under the title of «Elenchus bibliographicus», a complete and systematically arranged list of publications relating to the Bible as they appear. The last two parts are in Latin, while the first two may be in modern languages (Italian, French, Spanish, English, and German). The review enjoys great prestige throughout the world, even among Protestant and Jewish scholars.
