BIHLMEYER, Karl. - Dean of the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Tübingen, born in 1874, died there on March 27, 1942. He studied at that university under Fr. X. Funck, whom he succeeded in 1907 in teaching ecclesiastical history, continuing until 1940. He contributed various articles, mostly on the period of persecutions, to the *Tübinger Theologische Quartalschrift*. In 1907 he published a critical German edition of the works of Henry Suso, and in 1916 *Die zwischen Kaiser zu Rom und das Christentum*. He edited the third edition of the *Apostolic Fathers* by Funck (1924) and also updated the *History of the Church*, which he ultimately published under his own name in an excellent revised version.
