BERTALDO, IACOPO. - Bishop of Veglia, d. in Venice, 3 April 1315. His name appears for the first time in a document of 1295. There he figures as a notary and priest of the parish of St. Pantaleon in Venice. After 1298 he was also chancellor of the doge and in 1314 bishop of Veglia, in Dalmatia, but he never resided there.
He is the author of the Splendor Venetorum civitatis consuetudinum, edited by F. Schupfer in A. Gaudenzi's Bibliotheca iurica Medii Aevi, III, Bologna 1902. He is buried at St. Pantaleon.
