BERTALDO, IACOPO. – Bishop of Veglia, died in Venice on 3 April 1315. His name first appears in a document of 1295. There he is listed as a notary and priest of the parish of S. Pantaleo in Venice. After 1298 he was also doge’s chancellor, and in 1314 became bishop of Veglia, in Dalmatia, but he never resided there.
He is the author of the Splendor Venetorum civitatis consuetudinum, edited by F. Schupfer in A. Gaudenzi’s Bibliotheca inirica Medii Aevi, III, Bologna 1902. He is buried at S. Pantaleo.
