BRANDL, PETR. – Painter, born in 1688 in Prague, died in 1739 in Kutna' Hora. Through the study of the Italian Caravaggisti and naturalists, complemented by that of the works of Rembrandt and Rubens, he arrived at a style of his own, which made him one of the founders of the Bohemian Baroque.
