Bucholtz, Franz Bernhard von

BUCHOLTZ, Franz Bernhard von. - Austrian statesman and historian, b. 10 June 1790 at Münster (Westphalia), d. 14 Feb. 1838 at Vienna. In the activity he carried on in the Austrian capital he brought the spirit of renewal proper to the Catholic circles from which he came. His principal work is the history of the reign of Ferdinand I (9 vols., Vienna 1830-38).
