CAPGRAVE, JOHN. - Scholastic theologian and Augustinian hagiographer, born at Lynn on 21 April 1393 and died on 12 August 1464.

His scholastic works remain unpublished; printed works include: *The Chronicle of England* (London 1858); *De illustribus Henrici* (ibid. 1858); *The Life of St. Katharine of Alexandria* (ibid. 1893); *Nova legenda Angliae* (Oxford 1901); *Lives of St. Augustine...* (London 1910); *Ye Solace of Pilgrims, a Description of Rome* (ibid. 1911).
