CAPGRAVE, JOHN. – Scholastic theologian and Augustinian hagiographer, born at Lynn on 21 April 1393 and died on 12 August 1464.
His scholastic works remain unpublished; published works: The Chronicle of England (Londra 1858); De illustribus Henricis (ibid. 1858); The life of st. Katharine of Alexandria (ibid. 1893); Nova legenda Angliae (Oxford 1901); Lives of st. Augustine... (Londra 1910); Ye solace of pilgrimes, a description of Rome (ibid. 1911).
