CAPRA, MARCELLO. – Musician, born in Turin in 1862, died there in 1933. A pupil of Haberl and Renner in Regensburg, in 1897 he founded a publishing house in Turin (later merged with S.T.E.N. in 1906), and in 1899 the journal *S. Cecilia* for the artistic reform of sacred music. An indefatigable promoter of the Cecilian movement, he organized congresses, concerts, and publications of ancient and modern music, advancing historical and aesthetic studies on ecclesiastical music and modern piano technique.
