The Roman Conference of the Catholic African Missions. — In response to the request for cooperation from the International African Institute of London, at the invitation of the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith, the Roman Conference of the Catholic African Missions was founded in 1925 by the Jesuit Fr. H. Dubois, with the aim of bringing together representatives of religious institutes engaged in missions in Africa to exchange views on methods and problems of the apostolate. Today, 57 institutes participate in it, 46 of which are represented in Rome. Since 1932, the Conference has published AFER (q.v.).
