DE CENTESIMA, SEXAGESIMA, TRICESIMA. - Among extracts from works of s. Cipriano and his passio, an homily on the three rewards of human life is included in two manuscripts. According to this interpretation of Mt. 13, 8, the centesima portion belongs to martyrs, the sessantesima to ascetics (agonistae), and the trentesima to ordinary Christians.
The anonymous author, who cites the Acts of Paul, also knows a (Gnostic) doctrine that places the Son of God beside the six angels of the week of creation. The author himself is neither an Encratite, nor a Donatist, nor a Priscillianist. His dependence on s. Cipriano is evident. He probably lived in Africa in the fourth century.
