DEMETRIANUS, Saint.
Bishop of Antioch, father of DOMNUS, who later occupied the same see. D. was elected bishop in 253 and in 256 was taken prisoner and deported to Persia by Shapur I, who settled these Christians in special cities. D. governed the community of his faithful at Bendosapore, where he died after some time. His feast is on November 10.

DEMETRIANUS, Saint.
Bishop of Citrus (Cyprus), born c. 830, died between 910 and 915. Married at 15, he became a widower after three months when his wife died a virgin. D. then retired to the monastery of St. Anthony near Citrus, where he shone for his holiness and miracles. Bishop Eustathius called him to his side, ordained him a priest, and then appointed him as oeconomus of the diocese. But after a few years D. returned to the monastery and was chosen as archimandrite of the monastery. Later he was called to govern the diocese of Citrus for 25 years. Already elderly, he suffered an Arab incursion, which deported him along with other Catholics to Baghdad. However, he reproached the caliph for violating treaties and obtained, after a few days, to be returned to his homeland, where he was also buried. His feast is on November 6.
