DIAMANTINO

DIAMANTINO. – Prelature in the state of Mato Grosso in Brazil, suffragan of Cuyabà. It was erected by Pope Pius XI on 22 March 1929 by the apostolic constitution Cura Universae; the boundaries assigned at that time were subsequently modified by a decree of the Sacred Consistorial Congregation dated 22 June 1940. The prelatic church is that of the Immaculate Conception existing in D. It is entrusted to the Society of Jesus.
