ELISABETTA di REUTE, blessed. - Mystic, commonly called E. Bona, and “Betta la buona,” b. at Waldsee (Württemberg) on 25 Nov. 1386, d. at Reute
near Waldsee on 25 Nov. 1420. At the age of 17 (1403), she entered the monastery of the Franciscan Tertiaries at Reute, where she remained until her death.
There she devoted herself to meditation on the Passion of Christ, whose sufferings inspired in her penances and fasts; she was endowed with mystical charisms: ecstasies, visions, stigmata. Her tomb was always greatly venerated; her cult was confirmed by Clement XIII in 1766. Feast: 25 Nov.
