FOGARINI, Francesco Antonio da Brescia. - Skeptical philosopher and theologian of the Conventual Franciscans, he studied at the College of St. Bonaventure in Rome from 1644 and later became regent of studies in Brescia, Florence, and Vienna.
Returning to his homeland, he held a chair in the Studium of Brescia and was named perpetual definer of his Lombard province, of which he served as provincial minister from 1667 to 1670. Resuming his teaching, with his profound learning and engaging method he attracted numerous young people to his school in Brescia. Many are his works, both printed and in manuscript; noteworthy among them are the *Geminium centiloquium, Theologum, sicum unum, philosophicum alterum* (Brescia 1675) and the *Assertis Metaphysica cum Physico centiloquio* (ibid. 1685).
