Daughters of Mary, Called Sisters of Saint Philomena

DAUGHTERS OF MARY, called SISTERS OF SAINT PHILOMENA. — A religious institute founded at Louvese in France in 1841 through the work of the Jesuit Fathers Fuoillot and Robin, who entrusted the formation of the first group of members to the women religious of Our Lady of the Cenacle; the Institute separated from them and became autonomous in 1858. The sisters care for young women working in factories, industrial establishments, workshops, etc., as well as for the sick in their homes. It was approved by the Holy See in 1936 and currently has 25 houses with more than 200 religious.
