FURLANETTO, BONAVENTURA. – Musician, born in Venice on 27 May 1738, died there on 6 April 1817. A pupil of Formenti and Bolla, he taught at the Ospedale della Pietà; in 1794 he was provisionally appointed, and in 1797 definitively appointed, maestro di cappella at S. Marco, succeeding Bertoni. From 1811 he was professor of counterpoint at the Istituto filarmonico of Venice.
Among his numerous sacred compositions are several masses, hymns, oratorios (La Sposa di Sacri Cantici, Tobia, Il voto di Iefte, etc.), a Kyrie for four voices with orchestra, a Confitebor for three voices with orchestra, nine lessons for Holy Week, introits, psalms, and cantatas.
