Commissioned by Richelieu to examine, together with other theologians, the work of E. Richer, *De ecclesiastica et politica potestate*, which was full of errors regarding the constitution of the Church, he merely judged it to be inopportune. He was well versed in the knowledge of the Fathers of sacred antiquity. His commentary on the *Summa* of St. Thomas (2 vols., Paris 1627) is particularly valuable in its moral section.
