GOFFREDO BABIONE. - Scholasticus of Angers, d. in the first decades of the 12th century. He succeeded Marbod of Rheims in the office of "magister scholarum" around the year 1096.

Many of the 141 Sermones printed by Migne (PL 171, 343-951) under the name of Hildebert of Le Mans (Cenomanensis) are claimed for him by Wilmart, namely: 1, 10, 11, 15, 16, 18, 22, 26, 27, 28, 30, 34, 37, 38, 40, 41, 44, 46-49, 51, 52, 56, 65, 71, 81-84, 91, 92, 94, 95, 96, 98 (?), 104, 106-10, 113, 116, 118, 120, 123, 124, 126, 128. Sermones 37-38 are of interest for the Eucharist.
