GOFFREDO BABIONE. - Scholasticus of Angers, d. in the first decades of the 12th century. He succeeded Marbodo di Reims in the office of « magister scholarum » around the year 1096.
Wilmart attributes to him many of the 141 Sermones printed by Migne (PL 171, 343-951) under the name of Ildeberto di Le Mans (Cenomanensis), namely: 1, 10, 11, 15, 16, 18, 22, 26, 27, 28, 30, 34, 37, 38, 40, 41, 44, 46-49, 51, 52, 56, 65, 71, 81-84, 91, 92, 94, 95, 96, 98 (?), 104, 106-10, 113, 116, 118, 120, 123, 124, 126, 128. Sermones 37-38 are of interest for the Eucharist.
