GUIDO di ORCHELLES. – Scholastic theologian who lived between the 12th and 13th centuries.
All that is known of him thus far is that after 1206 he wrote a Summa de Sacramentis (unpublished), in which he follows the doctrines of Gilberto Porretano. His doctrine concerning the sacramental efficacy of Penance is especially important, in which the importance of the opsu operatum is emphasized.
