Guido di Orchelles

GUIDO di ORCHELLES. - Scholastic theologian who lived between the 12th and 13th centuries.

Of him it is so far known only that after 1206 he wrote a Summa de Sacramentis (unpublished), in which he follows the doctrines of Gilbert de la Porrée. Especially important is his doctrine on the sacramental efficacy of Penance, in which the importance of the opus operatum is emphasized.
