HIBERNON, ANDRÉS, Blessed
Francesca, born in 1534 at Alcantarilla near Murcia, died on 18 April 1602. In 1556, having suffered a robbery that revealed to him the vanity of wealth, he entered as a lay brother the convent of Albacete, from which in 1563, to follow the reform of St. Peter of Alcantara, he moved to that of Elche where he lived with St. Paschal Baylon. From 1591 he was in the convent of St. Roch in Gandia, and there he met the Blessed John de Ribera, archbishop of Valencia, who held him in great affection. He was a man of profound humility and assiduous prayer. Pius VI declared him blessed in 1791. Feast on 18 April.
