IŠŌ'DĀD of MERW. - Nestorian bishop of Hēdattā. Born at Merw, he lived in the 9th century.
Inspired by Theodore of Mopsuestia, he wrote a commentary on the Old and New Testament, one of the most important produced by the Nestorians. The one on the Gospels was published and translated into English: M. D. Gibon, The commentaries of Isho'dad of Merw, Cambridge 1911-13.

IŠŌ'DĒNAḤ. - Nestorian metropolitan of Bāšrā, who lived in the 9th century.
He composed the Book of Chastity, that is, a florilegium of brief biographies of ascetics who flourished in Persia and Mesopotamia, and an Ecclesiastical History in 3 parts, known only fragmentarily. Other works of various kinds, but of lesser importance, are also attributed to I.
