Išoʿbokt

IŠŌ'BŌKT. – Nestorian metropolitan of Réwardāšir (Persia), who lived in the eighth century.

He is the author of an important juridical work in 6 books on ecclesiastical canons, a work originally composed in Persian and translated into Syriac by the katholikos Timoteo I (ed. and German translation by E. Sachau, Syrische Rechtsbücher, III, Berlin 1910, pp. 1–201). I. also left works of a philosophical and liturgical nature.
