**ISAAC OF EDessa.** — According to James of Edessa there would be two Isaacs of Edessa: one a Monophysite from the second half of the 5th century, and another who later became Orthodox during the time of Asclepius (520–25). In the manuscripts, the writings of Isaac of Edessa are then confused with those of Isaac of Antioch (see).
The Monophysite would be the author of a poem of 2,136 verses on the parrot that repeated the addition: *«qui crucifixus est pro nobis»*. Instead, the Catholic one would be the author of writings defending the Council of Chalcedon.
