JUS PONTIFICIUM. – Title of the quarterly journal founded in Rome in 1921 by Fr. Alberto Toso (author of a well-regarded commentary on the *Codex Iuris Canonici*), dedicated to the treatment of canonical matters; it thus bore the subtitle: *seu ephemerides urbanae ad canonicas disciplinas spectantes*. Among the periodicals of this subject that emerged after the promulgation of the *Codex Iuris Canonici*, it distinguished itself for its highly scientific approach and the broad collaboration of both foreign canonists and those from the Roman Curia.
Publication was suspended after the 20th volume (1940) due to difficulties arising from the war, and it was never resumed, especially since the founder, who had directed it from the outset, had died on 13 August 1946.
