STUDIA ET DOCUMENTA HISTORIAE ET IURIS. - A scholarly journal—chiefly concerned with Roman law—published by the « Pontificium Institutum utriusque iuris », headquartered in Rome at the Pontifical Lateran Athenaeum.
It is published in annual volumes of approximately 500 pages, comprising original studies, notae, recessiones, chronica; particular prominence is given to the periodic « surveys »: of legal epigraphy, legal papyrology, and cuneiform law. Languages accepted: French, English, Italian, Latin, Spanish, German. The present series began in 1935 under the editorship of Emilio Albertario, and has reached vol. 18 (1952). The first series of the journal may be considered the 25 vols. published from 1880 to 1904 under the title Studi e documenti di storia e diritto, edited by the Accademia di conferenze storico-giuridiche, whose distinguished members included Giovanbattista De Rossi and Ilario Alibrandi. The journal currently has as directores Arcadio Larraona and Salvatore Riccobono, and as moderator et sponsor Gabrio Lombardi. Gabrio Lombardi
