It is the continuation of *Katholiek* (q.v.), but it is not, however, the official organ of the Catholic University of Nijmegen, although it maintains close ties with II. In addition to the professors of that university, the editorial staff includes professors from seminaries of both secular and regular clergy, as well as lay contributors. In addition to leading articles and "miscellanea," the journal features "chronicles" of Dutch affairs in philosophy, science, phenomenology insofar as they relate to religion, as well as in moral theology and exegesis, canon law, ascetical theology, Church history, and Protestant theology. These chronicles are the most thorough and comprehensive accounts of theological work in the Netherlands and are unrivaled even by Protestant journals. *S. C.* exemplifies the challenging balance between fidelity to perennial philosophy and theology (while acknowledging the diversity of Catholic schools) and engagement with contemporary issues. In addition to articles in Dutch, it publishes contributions in French, English, and German. It is published by Dekker and van de Vegt (Nijmegen and Utrecht).
