KATTERBACH, BRUNO. – Franciscan and palaeographer, b. in Düsseldorf on 16 September 1883, d. in Rome on 29 December 1931. He completed his theological studies at Fulda and his historical studies in Rome at the International College of S. Antonio.
In 1912 he obtained the diploma of the Vatican School of Palaeography and Diplomatics, and after barely two years was appointed professor at this same school, where he honorably held the chairs of palaeography, diplomatics, and archival science. Among his publications: Specimina supplicationum (Rome 1927); Exempla scripturarum, I (there 1928) and II (Vatican City 1930); Referendarii utriusque signaturae a Martino V ad Clementem IX (there 1931); Le miniature dell'Evangelario di Padova dell'a, 1170 (there 1931); Le miniature dell'Epistolario di Padova dell'a, 1259 (there 1931); Inventario dei Registri delle suppliche (published posthumously, there 1932).
