KLIMKE, FRIEDRICH. – Jesuit, philosopher, b. 1 June 1878 at Golnow in Upper Silesia, d. in Rome on 9 January 1924. He taught the history of philosophy first at the University of Innsbruck (1918–20), then at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (1920–24).

Principal works: *Der Monismus und seine philosophischen Grundlagen* (Freiburg 1911; Italian trans. by A. Ferro, Florence 1914); *Institutiones historiae philosophiae* (2 vols., Rome 1932); also *Die Hauptprobleme der Weltanschauung* (Kempten 1910); *Monismus und Pädagogik* (2nd ed., Munich 1918); *Unsere Sehnsucht* (11th ed., 1912).
