Klimke, Friedrich

KLIMKE, FRIEDRICH. - Jesuit, philosopher, b. June 18, 1878 at Golinov, in Upper Silesia, d. in Rome on Jan. 9, 1924. He taught history of philosophy, first at the University of Innsbruck (1918-20), then at the Gregorian University of Rome (1920-24).

Principal works: Der Monismus und seine philosophischen Grundlagen (Freiburg 1911; Italian trans. by A. Ferro, Florence 1914); Institutiones historiae philosophiae (2 vols., Rome 1932); furthermore Die Hauptprobleme der Weltanschauung (Kempten 1910); Monismus und Pädagogik (2nd ed., Munich 1918); Unsere Schnucht (11th ed., ibid. 1922).
