MISCELLANEA FRANCESCANA. - A quarterly periodical “of theological sciences and Franciscan studies,” founded as a Franciscan review “of sciences, letters, and arts” in 1886 by mons. M. Faloci Pulignani, at Foligno, with an irregular periodicity.
It is the oldest Franciscan review of a scholarly and international character; it was followed by Etudes franciscaines (Paris 1899), Archivum Franc. historicum (v. [Quaracchi 1908]), etc. It was directed by Faloci until 1930. In 1914 it passed to the Sacred Convent of Assisi, under the administration, editorial staff, and broader collaboration of the Conventual Friars Minor. Entrusted entirely to the same Order in 1931, it moved to Rome under the direction of Fr. G. Abate, becoming at the same time, in 1936, the quarterly organ of the group of historians and professors of the Pontifical Theological Faculty of the Order. The review, now in its 51st volume (1951), contains dissertations, critical notes and discussions, editions of texts, bibliographies, and annual chronicles on theology and Franciscan questions.
