MISCELLANEA FRANCESCANA. — Quarterly periodical “of theological sciences and Franciscan studies,” founded in 1886 as a “journal of sciences, letters, and Franciscan arts” by Msgr. M. Faloci Pulignani in Foligno, with irregular frequency.
It is the oldest Franciscan journal of a scientific and international character; it was followed by Études franciscaines (Paris 1899), Archivum Franciscanum Historicum (v. [Quarachi 1908]), etc. It was directed by Faloci until 1930. In 1914 it moved to the Sacred Convent of Assisi, under the administration and with the editorial staff and wider collaboration of the Conventual Friars Minor. Fully entrusted to the same Order in 1931, it moved to Rome under the direction of Fr. G. Abate, becoming in 1936 the quarterly organ of the group of historians and professors of the Pontifical Theological Faculty of the Order. The journal, now in its 51st volume (1951), contains dissertations, notes and critical discussions, editions of texts, bibliography, and annual chronicles on Franciscan theology and issues.
