MISCELLANEA FRANCISCANA. - A quarterly periodical "of theological sciences and Franciscan studies," founded as a journal "of Franciscan sciences, letters and arts" in 1886 by Msgr. M. Faloci Pulignani, at Foligno, with no fixed periodicity.
It is the oldest Franciscan journal of a scholarly and international character, followed by Etudes franciscaines (Paris 1899), Archivum Franc. historicum (v. [Quaracchi 1908]), etc. It was directed until 1930 by Faloci. In 1914 it moved to the Sacred Convent of Assisi, under the administration and with the editorial board and broader collaboration of the Friars Minor Conventual. Fully entrusted to the same Order in 1931, it moved to Rome, under the direction of Fr. G. Abate, becoming at the same time, in 1936, the quarterly organ of the group of historians and professors of the Pontifical Theological Faculty of the Order. The journal, now in its 51st volume (1951), contains dissertations, notes and critical discussions, editions of texts, bibliography and annual chronicles on the subject of theology and Franciscan problems.
