MORINO, GIOVANNI

MORINO, GIOVANNI. – Vincentian, moral theologian, born at Bra (Cuneo) on 30 June 1839, died at Naples on 31 May 1923.

He published a *Manuale di sacra eloquenza* (Turin 1886), the *Theologia moralis ad mentem s. Alphonsi M. de Ligorio* (ibid. 1892) and the subsequent *Enchiridion theologiae moralis* (ibid. 1896). In the *Theologia moralis* Morino is more exhaustive, as is natural; he offers no particular novelty, but what characterizes him is a sound balance in harmonizing and coordinating the complex doctrinal matter into a full and exceedingly clear exposition.
