MORINO, GIOVANNI. – Lazarist, moral theologian, born in Bra (Cuneo) on 30 June 1839, died in Naples on 31 May 1923.
He published a Manuale di sacra eloquenza (Turin 1886), the Theologia moralis ad mentem s. Alphonsi M. de Ligorio (there 1892), and the subsequent Enchiridion theologiae moralis (there 1896). In the Theologia moralis, M. is more comprehensive, as is natural; he has no particular innovations to propose. What characterizes him is a sound balance in harmonizing and coordinating the doctrinal whole in a full and exceptionally clear exposition.
