NEUE ZEITSCHRIFT FÜR MISSIONS-WISSENSCHAFT (NOUVELLE REVUE DE SCIENCE MISSIONNAIRE). - A quarterly scientific missionary journal, published since 1945 by J. Beckmann at the Seminary of Schöneck (Switzerland), with the intention of replacing the German-language scholarly journal Zeitschrift für Missionswissenschaft, founded by Prof. Schmidlin in 1911 and continued from 1938 by the journal Missionswissenschaft und Religionswissenschaft, and the French-language journal Revue d'histoire des missions, founded by G. Goyaa in 1924, which, owing to the circumstances then prevailing, had ceased publication in 1941 (the German journal Missionswissenschaft und Religionswissenschaft [from 1950 under the title Zeitschrift für Missionswissenschaft und Religionswissenschaft] resumed publication in 1947-48).
The N. Z. für M. treats, in scholarly articles, all the disciplines of missionary science: history of missions, missionography, missionary method, and missionary pastoral care, in German, French, English, and Italian. Giovanni Rommerskirchen
