« O QUOT UNDIS LACRYMARUM ». — Hymn of Matins in the Office of the feast of the Sorrows of Maria S.ma (15 Sept.), composed in the eighteenth century by an unknown author.
The entire sorrow of the Virgin at the foot of the Cross is brought into relief, and she is invoked to pour her sorrow also into our hearts and to make us sharers in the anguish of her soul, so that we may merit Christ’s redemption more abundantly.
