O Quot Undis Lacrymarum

O QUOT UNDIS LACRYMARUM. - Hymn of Matins in the Office of the feast of the Sorrows of Mary Most Holy (Sept. 15), composed in the 18th century by an unknown author.

In it all the sorrow of the Virgin at the foot of the Cross is set forth, and she is invoked to pour her sorrow also into our hearts and to make us sharers in the anguish of her soul, so that the redemption of Christ may be merited more abundantly.
