O QUOT UNDIS LACRYMARUM. – Hymn of Matins in the Office of the feast of the Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary (15 Sept.), composed in the 18th century by an unknown author.
It emphasizes all the sorrow of the Virgin at the foot of the Cross, and invokes her to pour her sorrow also into our hearts and make us share in the anguish of her soul so that we may merit a more abundant redemption in Christ.
