ORIENS CHRISTIANUS. – A semiannual journal founded in Rome in 1901 by the Pio College of the Camposanto Teutonico and directed by Anton Baumstark, who was later joined by Adolf Rücker and Georg Graf. The journal, written in German, published valuable studies and unpublished texts concerning the Mediterranean East, thus excluding the Slavic peoples, and distinguished itself particularly in Syrian literature and liturgy. It ceased publication in 1941 with its 36th volume.
